Possible Causes
Aging battery with reduced capacity, Parasitic drain from controller, Faulty built‑in battery charger, Loose battery terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the generator OFF and disable AUTO. Wear eye protection when working with batteries.
- Inspect terminals: Open the battery compartment and check for corrosion or loose clamps. Clean and tighten as needed.
- Measure voltage: Use a multimeter to check battery voltage. Below ~12.2 V indicates low charge. Charge the battery with an external charger until it reaches at least 12.6 V.
- Load test: If available, use a battery load tester to verify the battery can maintain voltage under load. Replace if it fails.
- Check charger output: With utility power present and the generator in standby, measure battery voltage after several hours. If it does not rise, the internal charger may be faulty and should be serviced.
