Possible Causes

Blown mains sensing fuse, Open sensing wires between ATS and controller, Incorrect voltage range setting, Failed sensing circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate both utility and generator sources before opening any panels. Only qualified persons should work inside the ATS.

  • Check controller settings: In the Scheppach controller menu, verify the configured utility voltage and phase type match the actual supply.
  • Inspect sensing fuses: Locate the small fuses protecting the mains sensing inputs on the controller or ATS. Replace any blown fuses with the correct rating after checking for shorts.
  • Verify sensing wiring: Trace the low‑current sensing wires from the ATS line side to the controller terminals. Tighten loose screws and repair damaged cables.
  • Measure utility voltage: With a meter and proper PPE, confirm that correct voltage is present at the ATS line terminals. If voltage is present but not detected by the controller, the sensing circuit may be faulty.
  • Replace control board if needed: If wiring and fuses are good, replace the Scheppach controller or sensing module.
