E20 emergency stop active, generator will not crank

Possible Causes
Engaged emergency stop button, Open E‑stop contact in remote panel, Broken wire in E‑stop loop, Faulty E‑stop input on controller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the generator cannot start unexpectedly while you work.
- Reset E‑stop button: Locate the red emergency stop button on the Scheppach generator enclosure and any remote panels. Twist or pull to reset, depending on design.
- Check E‑stop loop continuity: With battery disconnected, measure continuity across the E‑stop loop terminals at the controller. An open circuit indicates a tripped device or broken wire.
- Inspect remote panels: If a remote E‑stop station is installed, open it and check the contacts for damage or loose wires. Repair as needed.
- Bypass test (temporary): For diagnosis only, temporarily jumper the E‑stop input at the controller. If E20 clears and the unit starts, the problem is in the E‑stop devices or wiring. Remove the jumper after testing and restore proper safety function.
