Scheppach
Warm‑Up Stall / Fuel Starvation
Generator starts but stalls after a few seconds or minutes with no code
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Partially blocked fuel filter, Vent blocked on fuel tank cap, Sticky choke mechanism, Incorrect idle speed setting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and allow moving parts to stop before inspection.
- Loosen fuel cap: Run the generator with the fuel cap slightly loosened. If it no longer stalls, the tank vent is blocked. Clean or replace the fuel cap.
- Replace fuel filter: Install a new Scheppach fuel filter to ensure adequate flow.
- Check choke operation: Verify that the choke plate fully opens as the engine warms. Lubricate the linkage lightly and repair or replace a sticking choke actuator.
- Adjust idle speed: With the generator warm and unloaded, adjust the idle screw to the RPM specified in the manual. Too low an idle can cause stalling.
