Possible Causes
Clogged SDMO fuel filter, Failing fuel lift pump, Air leaks on suction side, Blocked fuel tank vent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the generator OFF and isolate it from load. Avoid open flames when working with fuel.
- Replace fuel filters: Change the primary and secondary fuel filters with SDMO-approved elements. Bleed the system thoroughly.
- Inspect fuel lines and fittings: Check for loose clamps, cracked hoses, or damp spots indicating leaks. Tighten or replace as necessary, especially on the suction side.
- Test lift pump: On mechanical pumps, operate the manual lever and confirm strong fuel flow. On electric pumps, verify voltage supply and listen for operation. Replace the pump if weak or inoperative.
- Check tank vent: Ensure the fuel tank vent is not blocked. A blocked vent can cause vacuum and low fuel pressure. Clean or replace the vent fitting.
- Reset AL11: After repairs, clear the alarm and run the generator under load to confirm stable operation.
