Possible Causes
Leak from fuel hoses or fittings into bund, Faulty SDMO bund level sensor, Overfilled day tank overflowing into containment, Cracked fuel filter bowl
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Stop the generator, isolate electrical supply, and contain any fuel spills immediately. Follow local environmental regulations for cleanup.
- Inspect bund area: Open the baseframe or bund access and visually check for fuel accumulation. Identify the leak source (hoses, filters, tank seams).
- Repair leaks: Tighten fittings, replace damaged hoses, and replace cracked filter bowls or seals. Use SDMO-approved fuel hoses and components.
- Check bund level sensor: Clean the sensor and test its operation by manually raising the float or bridging contacts as per SDMO manual. Replace if it falsely indicates high level.
- Drain bund: Safely pump out fuel from the bund into approved containers for reuse or disposal.
- Reset AL12: After eliminating leaks and draining the bund, clear the alarm and monitor closely during the next run.
