Possible Causes
Fuel supply turned off or blocked, Air in SDMO fuel system, Weak starter battery despite normal voltage reading, Faulty engine stop solenoid stuck in stop position
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Set controller to OFF and isolate load. Ensure the engine cannot start unexpectedly while you work.
- Verify fuel supply: Confirm that all manual fuel shutoff valves are open and that the day tank has fuel. Check for kinks or blockages in fuel lines.
- Bleed fuel system: Use the manual priming pump on the SDMO fuel filter head to remove air. Loosen bleed screws until fuel flows without bubbles, then retighten.
- Check battery under load: Attempt a start while monitoring battery voltage. If it drops below ~9.5 V (12 V system) or ~19 V (24 V), the battery is weak and should be replaced.
- Inspect stop solenoid: Ensure the fuel stop solenoid is energizing during crank. If it remains in the stop position, test and replace it.
- Attempt manual start: After corrections, try starting in MANUAL mode and observe for smoke or firing attempts to further diagnose fuel vs. ignition issues.
