Safety first: Shut down the generator and ensure the engine is stopped before opening the air filter housing.

• Inspect air filter: Open the air filter housing and remove the filter element. If it is heavily soiled or damaged, replace it with a Siemens-approved filter.
• Check intake path: Inspect the intake ducting and enclosure louvers for debris, nests, or obstructions. Clear any blockages.
• Inspect hoses: Look for collapsed or kinked intake hoses between the filter and engine. Replace any damaged sections.
• Check restriction switch: Some models use a vacuum switch to detect restriction. Inspect its tubing and wiring. Replace the switch if it indicates restriction with a clean filter and clear intake.
• Retest: Clear F29 and run the generator under load to confirm normal operation.
