How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Allow the engine to cool before touching any components. Oil on hot surfaces can cause smoke and fire risk.

Identify leak location: Clean the engine exterior and run briefly to see where fresh oil appears.
Check oil filter and drain plug: Tighten the oil filter by hand and ensure the drain plug is snug. Replace the drain plug washer if leaking.
Inspect gaskets and lines: Look for oil seeping from the rocker cover, oil pan, or cooler lines. Replace gaskets or hoses as needed.
Monitor oil level: Keep oil at the correct level and do not operate the generator with significant leaks until repaired.
