How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure engine is off and cannot start automatically.
- Locate IAT sensor: Often integrated with the boost pressure sensor or mounted in the intake manifold.
- Inspect sensor and connector: Check for oil or dirt buildup on the sensor tip. Clean gently with electrical cleaner if contaminated. Inspect connector pins and reseat.
- Test resistance: Measure sensor resistance at ambient temperature and compare to Volvo Penta specs. Replace if out of range.
- Check wiring continuity: Verify continuity from sensor to ECU. Repair any faults.
