Possible Causes

Excessive load on generator, Weak engine (fuel restriction or compression loss), Misadjusted governor, Clogged air filter

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect non-essential loads before troubleshooting. Turn OFF the generator and disable AUTO mode.

  • Reduce load: Turn off or disconnect high-demand appliances (HVAC, pumps, heaters) and restart the generator. If E07 disappears at lower load, the system may be overloaded or undersized.
  • Check air filter: Remove the air filter element and inspect for heavy dirt or oil saturation. Replace with an OEM Wacker Neuson filter if restricted.
  • Inspect fuel system: Replace the fuel filter if not recently serviced. Check for kinked fuel hoses or partially closed shutoff valves.
  • Governor adjustment: Verify that the governor linkage is correctly adjusted per the service manual. Incorrect spring tension can cause droop under load.
  • Measure frequency: With a frequency meter, monitor output under load. If frequency drops significantly below 50/60 Hz at moderate load, engine performance or governor control is suspect.
  • Service engine if needed: If E07 persists despite proper load and maintenance, have compression, injectors, and fuel pump tested by a technician.
