Possible Causes
Leaking fuel line or fitting, Cracked fuel filter housing, Faulty fuel pressure sensor, Loose injector return line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately stop the generator. Do not smoke or create sparks near the unit. Ventilate the area thoroughly.
- Visual inspection: Follow fuel lines from the tank to the engine. Look for wet spots, drips, or puddles under the generator.
- Tighten fittings: Carefully tighten hose clamps and threaded fittings at the fuel filter, lift pump, and injection pump.
- Inspect filter housing: Check for cracks or damaged seals on the fuel filter head. Replace the housing or O-rings if leaking.
- Check injector returns: Ensure small return hoses on injectors are intact and properly clamped.
- Fuel pressure sensor: If equipped, inspect the sensor and its O-ring. Replace if leaking or if the controller indicates pressure anomalies with no visible leaks.
- Clean and retest: Wipe up spilled fuel, clear E20, and run the generator while monitoring for new leaks.
