Generator starts and runs but shuts down when the enclosure doors are closed; runs normally with doors open.

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and disconnect the battery negative cable. Allow the unit to cool before inspecting internal components.

• Inspect airflow path: With doors open, trace the path from intake vents through the engine compartment to exhaust vents. Remove any insulation, wiring, or debris blocking airflow.
• Check enclosure temp switch: Some WEN units use an enclosure temperature switch. Locate and test this switch for proper operation; replace the enclosure temperature switch if it opens at too low a temperature.
• Verify vent screens: Ensure vent screens are clean and not clogged with dirt or insects.
• Confirm clearances: Make sure the generator is not installed too close to walls or obstructions that block vents when doors are closed.
