Possible Causes

Emergency stop button engaged, E-stop switch wiring open, faulty emergency stop switch, moisture intrusion in control wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Confirm that there is no actual emergency condition (fire, fuel leak, mechanical damage) before resetting any emergency stop.

  • Check E-stop button: Locate the red emergency stop button on or near the generator enclosure. If it is pressed in, twist or pull (depending on design) to release it.
  • Inspect E-stop wiring: With power off and battery disconnected, open the control compartment and trace the E-stop circuit wires to the controller. Look for loose terminals, broken conductors, or water damage.
  • Test switch continuity: Use a multimeter to verify that the E-stop switch changes state (open/closed) when pressed and released. Replace the switch if it does not operate correctly.
  • Dry out moisture: If condensation or water is present in the control box, dry thoroughly, correct any enclosure seal issues, and apply dielectric grease to exposed terminals.
  • Clear code: After resolving the issue, reconnect the battery, set the controller to OFF then AUTO, and confirm that E10 clears.
