Possible Causes
Corrupted controller firmware, failed memory chip, voltage spike damage, moisture intrusion into control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Set the controller to OFF, open the main AC breaker, and disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Power cycle the controller: Leave the battery disconnected for 5–10 minutes to allow the controller to fully discharge. Reconnect and check if E14 clears.
- Inspect for moisture: Open the control panel and look for signs of water ingress, condensation, or corrosion on the circuit board. Dry gently with low heat and correct any enclosure seal issues.
- Check harness connections: Reseat all multi-pin connectors on the controller and main control board to ensure good contact.
- Firmware update (if supported): Some Westinghouse controllers can be updated via a service port. This should be done only by an authorized service provider.
If E14 remains after basic checks, the controller module likely needs replacement.
