Possible Causes
Closed gas valve, no fuel supply, failed ignition coil, disconnected spark plug wires, clogged carburetor or injector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn controller to OFF, open main AC breaker, and disconnect negative battery cable before removing any covers.
- Verify fuel supply: Confirm gas valves are open and LP tank is not empty. For liquid fuel models, ensure there is adequate fuel in the tank.
- Check spark: Remove a spark plug, reconnect its wire, and ground the plug body to the engine block. Briefly crank (technician-level) and look for a strong blue spark. No spark indicates an ignition system issue.
- Inspect plug wires: Ensure all spark plug wires are firmly attached and not damaged.
- Fuel delivery: For carbureted units, check that fuel reaches the carburetor (fuel line should be wet after cranking). For gaseous units, a technician should verify gas pressure at the inlet.
