Generator shuts down shortly after starting and controller displays E02 / LOW OIL PRESSURE.

Safety first: Disable automatic start (set controller to OFF/AUTO OFF), open the main AC disconnect, and allow the engine to cool completely before checking oil.

• Check oil level: Remove the dipstick on the Winco engine and verify oil level is between the marks. Top up with the exact oil grade specified in the Winco manual. Do not overfill.
• Inspect for leaks: Look around the oil filter, drain plug, and crankcase gasket for fresh oil. Tighten the oil filter by hand if slightly loose. Repair obvious leaks before restarting.
• Reset and test: After correcting oil level, clear the E02 code and start the generator in MANUAL mode. Watch the engine for a few minutes. If it runs normally and the code does not return, return the unit to AUTO.
• Check oil pressure switch: If oil level is correct and there are no leaks, the oil pressure switch may be faulty. Inspect its wiring harness for damage or loose connectors. On many Winco models the switch is threaded into the engine block near the oil filter.
• Do not bypass protection: Never permanently bypass the oil pressure switch. If you suspect a false trip, have the oil pressure measured mechanically by a technician.

If E02 persists with correct oil level, stop using the generator and have the lubrication system and oil pressure switch professionally tested.
