Possible Causes
Failed battery charger on control panel, Aged or sulfated starting battery, Loose or corroded battery cables, Parasitic draw from controller or accessories
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disable AUTO mode. Wear eye protection when working around batteries.
- Measure battery voltage: With the generator idle, measure across the battery terminals. Below ~12.0 VDC indicates a discharged battery.
- Inspect terminals: Clean corrosion from battery posts and cable lugs using a battery brush. Tighten all connections, including the ground strap to the frame.
- Check battery charger: With AC utility power present, measure voltage at the battery. It should be around 13.2–13.6 VDC if the Winco battery charger is working. If voltage remains at raw battery level, the charger or its fuse may be bad.
- Charge or replace battery: Fully charge the battery with an external charger and retest. If it will not hold charge, replace with the exact CCA and type recommended by Winco.
- Inspect for parasitic loads: Ensure no aftermarket accessories are connected directly to the generator battery.
After correcting, clear the E06 code and test several automatic start cycles. If low voltage returns, have the charger circuit inspected.
