How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disable AUTO and keep fuel supply off while testing for spark to avoid flooding.
- Check spark plug: Remove the spark plug, inspect for cracks, heavy deposits, or wear. Replace with the exact type and gap specified by Winco.
- Test for spark: With the plug grounded to the engine and fuel disabled, crank the engine and look for a strong blue spark. No spark indicates an issue with the ignition coil or module.
- Inspect ignition wiring: Check the coil primary connector and any crank or cam pickup sensors for loose or damaged wires.
- Replace ignition coil/module: If wiring is intact and there is no spark, replace the coil or integrated ignition module as specified for your Winco engine model.
If ignition faults persist, further diagnosis of the controller ignition output may be required.
