Possible Causes
Closed gas shutoff valve, Low LP tank level or low NG line pressure, Blocked fuel filter, Faulty gas regulator at generator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off AUTO and avoid open flames. Work in a well-ventilated area when dealing with gas.
- Verify gas valves: Confirm the main LP/NG shutoff valve at the tank and the valve at the generator are fully open.
- Check fuel level: For LP, verify tank gauge shows adequate level (typically above 30%). For NG, consult your gas supplier if pressure is suspect.
- Inspect regulator and filter: Examine the gas regulator and any inline fuel filter at the generator for icing, contamination, or damage. Replace a clogged filter.
- Leak check: Use a gas leak detector solution on fittings. Repair any leaks before restarting.
If E17 persists with confirmed gas supply, the regulator or internal fuel system should be tested by a licensed gas technician.
