Possible Causes

Empty or very low fuel tank, Faulty fuel level sensor, Blocked fuel line or clogged pickup in tank, Air leak on suction side of fuel system

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and disconnect the battery negative cable. Keep all ignition sources away from fuel.

  • Confirm fuel level: Visually inspect the fuel tank level (diesel or gasoline) or check the LPG/NG supply pressure and cylinder/tank level. Refill or restore supply as needed.
  • Inspect fuel lines: Follow the fuel line from the tank to the engine. Look for kinks, cracks, or collapsed hoses. Replace any damaged hoses with fuel-rated hose.
  • Check for air leaks: On diesel systems, inspect all hose clamps and fittings on the suction side. Tighten loose clamps. Use the manual primer to pressurize and look for fuel seepage.
  • Clean tank pickup: If accessible, remove the fuel pickup assembly from the tank and clean any sludge or debris from the screen.
  • Test fuel level sensor: If the tank is full but the controller still shows low fuel and E06, test the fuel level sender resistance and wiring. Replace the sender if out of Yamaha specification.
  • Prime and test: Prime the fuel system, clear the code, and run the generator while monitoring for stable operation.
