Possible Causes
Emergency stop button engaged, Open circuit in remote stop wiring, Faulty emergency stop switch, Loose connector at control module stop input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Confirm that the generator cannot start unexpectedly. Keep the transfer switch in the NORMAL (utility) position while troubleshooting.
- Check emergency stop button: Locate the red emergency stop (E-STOP) on or near the generator. If it is pressed in, twist or pull it to release, depending on design.
- Inspect remote stop wiring: Trace the two-wire remote stop circuit from the E-STOP to the Yamaha controller. Look for cuts, abrasions, or rodent damage. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Test E-STOP switch: Disconnect the switch and test continuity with a multimeter. It should change state when pressed/released. Replace the switch if it does not operate correctly.
- Check controller input connector: Ensure the stop circuit connector is fully seated on the control board and that pins are not bent or corroded.
- Reset and test: After correcting the issue, clear the E07 code and attempt a manual start.
