Possible Causes
Leaking fuel hose or fitting, Loose fuel filter connections, Cracked fuel tank or sender gasket, Overfilled fuel tank causing venting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, shut off fuel supply, disconnect battery negative, and ventilate the area. Do not operate the unit until leaks are corrected.
- Inspect fuel lines: Follow all fuel hoses from the tank to the engine. Look for wet spots, cracks, or loose clamps. Replace damaged hoses and tighten clamps.
- Check fuel filter: Inspect around the fuel filter for seepage. Reseat or replace the filter and its seals if leaking.
- Examine tank and sender: Look for cracks in the tank and around the fuel level sender gasket. Replace the gasket or tank if damaged.
- Avoid overfilling: Ensure the fuel level is below the filler neck to allow for expansion and proper venting.
