Safety first: Disconnect power and prepare for water spillage when opening the pump filter.

Clean pump filter: Access the front lower service panel, remove the pump filter, and clear all debris. This is the most common cause.
Check for obstructions: Inspect the pump impeller for coins, hairpins, or fabric. Remove any obstructions carefully.
Verify hose routing: Ensure the drain hose is not inserted too far into the standpipe and is not kinked or crushed.
Run a test drain: After cleaning, run a drain/spin cycle with no clothes to verify proper draining.
Replace pump if needed: If the pump hums but does not move water, or tests open with a multimeter, replace the drain pump assembly.
