Possible Causes
Broken or slipped drive belt, Failed drive motor, Seized drum bearings, Faulty motor control circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before tipping or removing panels.
- Check load: Remove clothes and try a spin-only cycle to rule out overload.
- Inspect belt: Remove rear or bottom panel and inspect the drive belt between the motor and drum pulley. If broken, frayed, or off the pulley, replace and ensure proper tension.
- Turn drum by hand: Rotate the drum manually. If it is very stiff or grinding, the drum bearings may be seized and require professional replacement.
- Test motor: If belt and bearings are good, test the drive motor for continuity and insulation resistance. Replace if defective.
- Control diagnosis: If motor and belt are good but no power is sent to the motor, the main control board may be faulty.
