Possible Causes
Blocked pressure switch hose, Defective water level pressure switch, Stuck-open water inlet valve, Faulty main control module (overfill detection)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance immediately if overfilling occurs. Shut off water taps to prevent flooding.
- Check for continuous filling: With the machine unplugged, observe if water continues to enter. If yes, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
- Inspect pressure hose: Remove the top cover. Locate the thin rubber hose from the tub air chamber to the pressure switch. Ensure it is firmly connected, not split, kinked, or blocked with detergent residue. Clean or replace as needed.
- Clean air chamber: At the tub end, check the air trap/chamber for sludge buildup. Remove and rinse thoroughly to restore proper air pressure sensing.
- Test pressure switch: With power off, disconnect the hose from the switch and gently blow; you should hear clicks as the diaphragm actuates. Use a multimeter to verify contact change when pressure is applied. Replace the switch if it does not operate correctly.
- Run a test cycle: After reassembly, run a short wash and monitor the fill level. If E04 persists despite a good pressure system and new valve, the control module may be faulty and should be evaluated by a technician.
