Possible Causes

Failed dryer heater element, Tripped or faulty thermal cut-out (thermostat), Blocked condenser or air duct, Faulty dryer temperature sensor (NTC)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Dryer heaters run at high wattage and can cause burns or shock.

  • Clean airflow path: Remove the lower front panel or rear panel (model dependent) to access the condenser and air ducts. Clean lint and debris from the condenser, fan housing, and ducts to restore airflow.
  • Check thermal cut-outs: Locate the thermal fuses/thermostats on or near the dryer heater housing. With power off, test for continuity. Replace any open (tripped) thermostats with the correct Amica-rated parts.
  • Test dryer heater: Disconnect the heater terminals and measure resistance with a multimeter. An open circuit indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
  • Inspect dryer NTC: The dryer temperature sensor is usually mounted in the air duct. Check its resistance at room temperature and compare to specifications. Replace if readings are abnormal.
  • Reassemble and test: After replacing faulty components and cleaning ducts, run a drying cycle with a small load and verify that warm air is present at the drum and that E06 does not reappear.
