Possible Causes
Faulty motor tachometer coil, Loose or damaged motor wiring harness, Worn carbon brushes (on brushed motors), Defective motor control circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Moving parts can start unexpectedly during testing.
- Check drum movement: Rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly without grinding or binding. Mechanical resistance can overload the motor.
- Access the motor: Remove the rear panel. Locate the drive motor at the bottom of the tub and inspect the belt for damage or slippage.
- Inspect wiring: Check the motor connector and harness for loose pins, corrosion, or broken wires. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Check carbon brushes (if fitted): On brushed motors, remove the brush holders and inspect brush length. If they are worn below manufacturer minimum, replace both brushes with Amica-compatible parts.
- Test tachometer: The tach coil is mounted on the motor shaft. Disconnect its connector and measure resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed tachometer. Replace the motor or tach assembly as designed for your model.
- If E07 persists: The motor control section of the main PCB may be faulty. This typically requires professional diagnosis and board replacement.
