Possible Causes
Partially blocked drain pump, Partially blocked sump hose, Drain hose installed too high or with airlock, Weak drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and prepare for water spillage.
- Clean pump filter and sump: Open the pump filter, drain water, and remove debris. Also check the black sump hose from the tub to the pump for socks or lint balls.
- Check drain hose installation: Ensure the drain hose height and routing follow Amica installation instructions (usually 60–100 cm above floor). Avoid long horizontal runs that can trap air.
- Test pump flow: Run a drain-only program with the hose discharging into a bucket. Observe the flow; a weak or intermittent flow suggests a failing pump.
- Replace pump if needed: If the pump is noisy, hot, or weak despite a clear system, replace the drain pump with an Amica-compatible unit.
