Safety first: Unplug the appliance.

• Check door alignment: Lift the door gently; if there is excessive play, adjust or replace the hinge.
• Inspect strike: Replace a worn or broken door strike so it fully engages the lock.
• Test lock contacts: With the door closed, verify continuity across the door-closed switch terminals. Replace the door lock if the contact does not close reliably.
