Possible Causes

Torn or worn door gasket (boot seal), Foreign object trapped between gasket and drum, Loose door gasket retaining clamp, Excessive suds foaming over the lip

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply. Mop up any spilled water to prevent slipping.

  • Inspect gasket: Open the door and carefully examine the entire circumference of the rubber door seal. Look for tears, holes, or splits, especially at the bottom.
  • Remove foreign objects: Check the gap between the gasket and drum for bra wires, coins, or other sharp items. Remove them carefully.
  • Check clamps: Verify that the inner and outer metal or wire clamps holding the gasket are tight and seated in their grooves. Refit or tighten as needed.
  • Replace gasket if damaged: Remove the outer clamp, peel off the gasket, release the inner clamp, and fit a new Amica-compatible door gasket, ensuring the drain holes are positioned correctly at the bottom.
  • Reduce detergent: If the gasket is intact but foam is escaping, reduce detergent dosage and use HE detergent.
