Possible Causes

Open or shorted NTC sensor, loose NTC connector, damaged wiring between NTC and control board, defective main control board temperature circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power and allow the machine to cool before working near the heater.

How to check:

  • Locate the NTC: On Ariston washer-dryer combos, the NTC (temperature sensor) is usually mounted in the heater housing on the side or bottom of the tub.
  • Inspect connector: Remove the rear or front lower panel (depending on model) and locate the NTC. Ensure the connector is tight and free of corrosion. Reseat it.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the NTC and measure its resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature (~20–25°C), it should typically read between 20–30 kΩ (check Ariston specs). If it reads near 0 Ω (short) or OL (open), replace the NTC.
  • Check wiring: Trace the NTC wires to the control board. Look for damage or loose plugs at the board.
  • Control board: If the NTC and wiring are good but F03 persists, the temperature sensing circuit on the PCB may be faulty and the board will need replacement.

Tip: Always refit the NTC firmly into its housing to ensure proper contact with the tub water.
