Faulty control panel (UI board), damaged ribbon cable between UI and main board, stuck or contaminated buttons, defective main control board communication circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
Steps:
- Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then reconnect. Sometimes transient UI errors clear with a reset.
- Inspect control panel: Remove the top cover and front console screws. Gently pull the control panel forward.
- Check ribbon cable: Ensure the flat ribbon cable between the UI and main board is fully seated and not damaged. Reseat both ends.
- Clean buttons: If buttons stick, remove the fascia and clean around the buttons with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Do not soak the electronics.
- Board replacement: If F06 persists and physical connections are good, the UI board or main control board may be defective. Replace the UI board first, as it is more commonly at fault.
Warning: Avoid flexing or creasing the ribbon cable; it is easily damaged.
