Possible Causes

Open or shorted dryer NTC sensor, loose NTC connector in dryer air duct, damaged wiring to dryer NTC, defective control board dryer sensor circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before working on the dryer section.

Steps:

  • Locate dryer NTC: On Ariston combos, the dryer NTC is usually mounted in the hot air duct or on the heater housing at the rear or side.
  • Inspect connector: Check that the NTC plug is secure and free of corrosion. Reseat it.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the NTC and measure resistance at room temperature (typically 20–30 kΩ; verify with Ariston specs). If open or near 0 Ω, replace the NTC.
  • Check wiring: Trace the NTC wires back to the control board and verify continuity.
  • Control board: If NTC and wiring are good, the dryer sensor circuit on the PCB may be faulty and the board will need replacement.

Note: Ensure the NTC is properly clipped back into the duct to sense air temperature correctly.
