Possible Causes
Stuck dryer heater relay on control board, shorted dryer heater, faulty dryer NTC causing miscontrol, wiring short in dryer circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug immediately; overheating risk.
Steps:
- Check dryer NTC: Verify the dryer NTC sensor is within spec (see F13).
- Test heater insulation: Use a megohmmeter to test heater to earth; low insulation indicates a short and requires heater replacement.
- Inspect control board: Look for welded relay contacts or burn marks in the dryer heater control area. Replace the board if damage is found.
- Wiring inspection: Check all dryer heater circuit wiring for chafing or contact with metal parts.
Note: Do not bypass safety thermostats or sensors; they are critical for safe dryer operation.
