Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Asko combo from power and turn off the water supply before any disassembly.
Step-by-step checks:
- Inspect the door: Open and close the door firmly. Check that the latch hook on the door is not cracked, bent, or loose. If damaged, the door will not engage the lock switch.
- Check for obstructions: Look around the door gasket and latch area for clothing, coins, or debris preventing full closure. Remove any obstruction and try starting again.
- Test the door lock: With power disconnected, remove the front panel or door seal clamp (depending on model) to access the door lock assembly. Inspect the connector for corrosion or loose pins. Reseat the plug firmly.
- Continuity test: Using a multimeter, test the door lock switch terminals for continuity when the latch is engaged. If the lock coil or switch is open, replace the door lock assembly.
- Control board check: If the door lock tests good but E01 persists, inspect the main control board for burnt traces or relays. At this point, replacement of the control board is usually required and is best done by a qualified technician.
When to stop: If you smell burning, see scorch marks on the control board, or are not comfortable working around wiring, stop and contact an Asko-authorized service technician.
