Dryer function does not heat; clothes remain wet after drying cycle and E06 is displayed.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the combo. Dryer heaters run at high wattage and can cause burns or fire if mishandled.
- Clean lint and condenser: Remove and thoroughly clean the condenser unit (if condenser type) and all accessible lint filters. Blocked airflow can overheat and trip thermostats.
- Check airflow: For vented models, inspect the exhaust duct for kinks, lint buildup, or obstructions. Clean or replace ducting as needed.
- Access dryer heater: Remove the rear or top panel (model-dependent) to reach the dryer heating element assembly. Inspect for broken coils, burn marks, or disconnected wires.
- Test thermostats and NTC: Using a multimeter, check continuity of the high-limit thermostat and thermal cutout. An open circuit indicates a failed safety device that must be replaced. Test the exhaust NTC sensor resistance against Asko specs.
- Test heater element: Measure resistance across the heater terminals. An open circuit means the element is burned out and requires replacement.
If all components test good but E06 persists, the main control board may not be supplying power to the heater; seek professional diagnosis.
