Possible Causes
Worn or failed drive motor, Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Loose or damaged motor wiring harness, Defective motor control circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power. Moving parts and high voltage are present around the motor.
- Check for mechanical obstruction: Open the door and try to rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly. Grinding or seizure may indicate bearing or foreign object issues rather than motor failure.
- Inspect drive belt (if belt-driven): Remove the rear panel and verify the belt is intact and properly tensioned between the motor pulley and drum pulley. Replace a broken or heavily worn belt.
- Inspect motor wiring: Locate the drive motor at the base of the unit. Check the wiring connector for secure fit and signs of overheating.
- Test motor windings: With a multimeter, measure resistance across motor windings according to Asko specifications. An open or shorted winding indicates a failed motor.
- Check tachometer: Many Asko motors have a tachometer coil or sensor. Test its resistance; if open, the control cannot sense speed and will trigger E07.
If motor and wiring test good, the motor control circuit on the main PCB is suspect. Board-level repair is complex; contact an Asko service center.
