Possible Causes
Failed door lock solenoid, Jammed door latch mechanism, Faulty door lock wiring, Control board not sending unlock signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before forcing the door. Do not pry aggressively on the glass.
- Wait a few minutes: Some Asko models delay unlocking for 1–3 minutes after cycle end. Listen for the click of the lock releasing.
- Emergency release: Consult the user manual for the emergency door release (often accessible behind the lower front panel or pump filter door). Gently pull the release tab to open the door.
- Inspect latch and gasket: Check for clothing or objects trapped between the door and gasket. Remove obstructions and test door operation.
- Check door lock assembly: With power off and front panel or gasket removed, inspect the door lock assembly and wiring. Look for broken plastic, burnt connectors, or loose wiring. Replace the lock if damaged or if the solenoid coil is open (no continuity).
If the lock is functional but E10 persists, the control board may not be driving the lock circuit correctly; professional service is recommended.
