Possible Causes
Drive belt slipping on pulley, Lint buildup on dryer heater, Foreign object contacting heater, Failing motor or electrical short
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Immediately stop the machine, unplug it, and do not continue using it until the cause is found. Fire risk is present.
- Check drum movement: Try rotating the drum by hand. If stiff, the motor may be straining and the belt slipping.
- Inspect belt and pulleys: Remove the rear panel and inspect the drive belt for glazing or burning. Replace if damaged and ensure pulleys are aligned.
- Clean dryer heater area: Access the dryer heater assembly and remove lint and dust. Ensure no fabric pieces are touching the heater.
- Inspect wiring: Look for burnt connectors or melted insulation around the motor, heater, and control board.
If you cannot quickly identify and correct a minor cause (like belt wear), contact a technician before further use.
