Possible Causes
Clogged inlet screen on water valve, Failed hot/cold water inlet valve assembly, Low or no household water pressure, Faulty water level (pressure) switch or hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Avanti combo from power and turn off both hot and cold water supply valves before working on hoses or valves.
- Check household water supply: Verify both hot and cold faucets feeding the washer are fully open. Confirm other faucets in the home have normal pressure.
- Inspect inlet hoses: Pull the unit forward, close water valves, and disconnect the hot and cold hoses from the back of the washer. Check for kinks, internal collapse, or debris in the hose ends. Replace hoses if damaged.
- Clean inlet screens: At the water inlet valve ports on the back of the Avanti combo, remove and rinse the small metal screens under running water to clear sediment. Do not puncture the screens.
- Check for valve operation: Reconnect hoses, open valves, plug in the unit, and start a fill cycle. Listen for the inlet valve humming and check if water flows. If the valve hums but no water enters (and supply is good), the inlet valve is likely faulty.
- Inspect pressure switch hose (advanced): With power unplugged and top panel removed, locate the small rubber hose from the tub/air chamber to the water level (pressure) switch. Ensure it is not cracked, kinked, or disconnected. Re-seat or replace if damaged.
- When to call a technician: If the E1 persists after cleaning screens and confirming water supply, the water inlet valve assembly or pressure switch may need replacement and should be tested with a multimeter by a qualified technician.
