Possible Causes
Failed dryer thermistor (NTC sensor), Loose or corroded sensor wiring, Shorted or open temperature sensor circuit, Control board misreading sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before accessing the heater or sensor area.
- Locate the thermistor: On most Avanti combos, the dryer NTC sensor is mounted on or near the heater housing or exhaust duct.
- Inspect wiring: Check the sensor connector and wiring harness for secure fit and no visible damage.
- Test the sensor: Using a multimeter, measure the resistance of the thermistor at room temperature and compare to Avanti specifications. An open or shorted reading indicates a bad sensor.
- Replace if faulty: Install a new Avanti-compatible dryer thermistor if readings are out of range. Clear lint from the surrounding area to ensure proper airflow.
