How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Components may be hot; wait until they cool before servicing.
- Clean lint paths: Remove the lint filter and clean thoroughly. Access internal ducts and the blower housing to remove accumulated lint and debris.
- Check exhaust fan: Verify the dryer fan wheel is securely attached to the motor shaft and spins freely. Replace the fan or motor if seized or broken.
- Inspect high-limit thermostat: Locate the high-limit thermostat on the heater housing. Check for continuity with a multimeter. If open and not resettable, replace it.
- Verify venting (if vented model): Ensure the external vent hose is not crushed or blocked and that the wall vent flap opens freely.
