Washer-dryer combo displays E8 and stops; drum may not rotate correctly or may be noisy.

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the motor or control board.

• Check drum for binding: Manually rotate the drum. If it is very stiff or grinding, inspect for foreign objects between drum and tub or bearing issues.
• Inspect motor connections: Remove the rear panel and locate the motor. Verify the multi-pin connector and any separate tach sensor plug are fully seated and free of corrosion or damage.
• Check wiring harness: Trace the harness from the motor to the control board, looking for pinched, cut, or burnt wires. Repair or replace as needed.
• Sensor replacement (advanced): On some Avanti motors, the Hall sensor is mounted on the motor stator. If it tests faulty or is visibly damaged, replace the sensor or the entire motor assembly according to Avanti parts availability.
• Control board diagnosis: If wiring and sensor are good, the main control board may not be processing tach feedback correctly and should be tested by a professional.
