Drain Pump Timeout / Drainage Failure
Washer-dryer does not drain; water remains in drum and program stops with E03

Possible Causes
Clogged drain pump filter, Blocked drain pump impeller or foreign object, Blocked drain hose or standpipe, Defective drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Water may spill when opening the filter; keep towels and a shallow tray ready.
Step-by-step checks:
- Clean the pump filter: Open the lower service flap on the front. Place a tray under the filter cap. Slowly unscrew the filter and let water drain. Remove lint, coins, and debris from the filter and pump cavity.
- Check the impeller: With the filter removed, reach in and gently turn the pump impeller. It should rotate freely with slight resistance. If jammed or loose on the shaft, the drain pump may need replacement.
- Inspect the drain hose: Check the external drain hose for kinks or clogs. Detach from the standpipe or sink trap and flush with water. Ensure the hose height and routing follow Balay installation guidelines.
- Electrical test: Access the drain pump from the rear or bottom. Verify the connector is secure. Measure coil resistance with a multimeter; an open circuit or very low resistance indicates a faulty pump.
- Re-test: Refit the filter securely, reconnect hoses, and run a drain or spin program. If E03 persists with a clean system and tested pump, the wiring or main control module may be at fault and should be checked by a technician.
