Possible Causes

Shorted motor triac on main control board, shorted drive motor windings, damaged motor wiring harness, moisture or carbon tracking on power module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply before any work. Do not work on live circuits.

Step-by-step checks:

  • Power reset: Disconnect the washer-dryer from mains for at least 10 minutes to discharge the control board. Reconnect and try a short cycle. If F01 returns immediately, continue.
  • Inspect motor connector: Remove the rear panel. Locate the drive motor at the bottom of the tub. Check the multi-pin connector for signs of burning, corrosion, or loose pins. Reseat the connector firmly.
  • Check motor windings (advanced): With the unit unplugged, use a multimeter on the motor terminals. Typical Bauknecht universal motors show low but consistent resistance between stator and rotor windings. If readings are open (infinite) or a dead short (near 0 Ω), the motor is likely faulty.
  • Inspect wiring harness: Follow the harness from the motor to the main control (power module). Look for chafed insulation, pinched wires, or signs of arcing. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
  • Control board inspection: Access the main control module (usually behind the front lower kick panel or top cover). Look for burnt spots near the motor triac (three‑legged power component with heatsink). If visibly damaged or if F01 persists after motor checks, the board typically needs replacement.

When to stop: If you are not comfortable testing live circuits or replacing the power module, contact a qualified Bauknecht service technician.
