Possible Causes

Blocked drain pump filter, foreign object in drain pump impeller, failed drain pump motor, blocked or kinked drain hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Expect water spillage when opening the filter.

Clear the drain system:

  • Access pump filter: Open the lower front service flap. Place a shallow tray and towels under the filter cap.
  • Drain residual water: If equipped, pull out the emergency drain hose and empty into the tray. Then slowly unscrew the pump filter cap.
  • Clean filter and pump: Remove lint, coins, buttons, and debris from the filter and pump cavity. Reach in and gently turn the impeller; it should rotate freely without grinding.
  • Check drain hose: Inspect the rear drain hose for kinks or clogs. Detach from the standpipe/siphon and flush with hot water to clear soap buildup.
  • Test pump operation: Refit the filter, reconnect power, and run a drain or spin-only program. If the pump hums but does not turn, or is silent and F02 reappears, the pump motor is likely defective.

Next step: Replace the drain pump assembly if it is noisy, seized, or not energizing despite correct wiring.
