Possible Causes

Stuck heater relay on control board, shorted heater to ground, wiring short between heater and chassis, moisture on heater terminals

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance and ensure it is dry before inspection.

Inspect heater insulation:

  • Visual check: Remove rear panel and inspect heater terminals for signs of arcing, carbon tracking, or moisture.
  • Insulation test (advanced): Using a megohmmeter if available, test between each heater terminal and earth. Low insulation resistance indicates a leakage to ground and the heater should be replaced.
  • Dry the area: If there are signs of condensation or leaks, dry the heater area thoroughly and check for tub or hose leaks above.

Control board: If the heater is not shorted and wiring is intact, the heater relay on the control board may be stuck. In that case, replace the main control module.
