Possible Causes

Faulty motor tachometer sensor, worn carbon brushes on universal motor, damaged motor wiring harness, failed motor driver on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance.

Inspect motor and brushes:

  • Access motor: Remove the rear panel. The motor is mounted under the drum with a drive belt.
  • Check belt: Ensure the belt is intact and properly tensioned.
  • Carbon brushes: Remove the motor (if necessary) and inspect the carbon brushes. If they are shorter than ~1 cm or unevenly worn, replace both brushes with Bauknecht-compatible parts.
  • Tachometer: On the motor shaft end, inspect the tachometer coil and connector. Ensure it is firmly attached and not physically damaged.

Test: Reassemble and run a spin cycle. If F21 persists, the motor or control board motor driver may be defective and require replacement.
