Shorted motor windings, severe tachometer failure, motor harness short to chassis, failed motor driver on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance.
Deep motor inspection:
- Check harness: Inspect the entire motor harness for chafing against the drum or chassis.
- Test motor windings: Measure resistance between motor terminals and between each terminal and earth. Any short to earth or large imbalance between windings indicates a faulty motor.
Resolution: Replace the motor if windings are defective. If the motor is good, the main control board motor driver is likely faulty and the board must be replaced.
